Description
The Blue Sea Systems 285-Series Circuit Breaker – Surface Mount 150A (Part No. 7189) provides thermal overcurrent protection for marine DC electrical systems. Its surface-mount design combines circuit protection and manual switching in a single unit.
The breaker uses a thermally responsive bi-metal blade to interrupt current when an overload causes it to trip. A visible reset lever indicates when the circuit is open, and the trip-free mechanism prevents the breaker from being held closed after tripping.
Designed for marine applications, the 285-Series is weather-resistant and ignition-protected for installation aboard gasoline-powered boats. It meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements and is designed as a drop-in replacement for 185-Series circuit breakers.
