Description
The Blue Sea Systems 285-Series Circuit Breaker – Surface Mount 100A (Part No. 7187) combines thermal circuit protection and manual switching in a single unit for marine DC electrical systems.
Designed for surface mounting, this circuit breaker uses a thermally responsive bi-metal blade to interrupt a circuit when excessive current causes it to trip. Its visible reset lever indicates when the circuit is open, while the trip-free mechanism prevents the breaker from being held closed after tripping.
The 285-Series is ignition-protected for installation aboard gasoline-powered boats and meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements. It is also weather-resistant and designed as a drop-in replacement for 185-Series circuit breakers.
