Description
The Blue Sea Systems 285-Series Circuit Breaker – Surface Mount 80A (Part No. 7186) provides thermal overcurrent protection for marine DC electrical systems while offering manual switching and reset functionality in a single unit.
Designed for surface mounting, this circuit breaker features a thermally responsive bi-metal blade, a visible reset lever that indicates an open circuit, and a trip-free mechanism that prevents the breaker from being held closed after it trips. It is ignition-protected for installation aboard gasoline-powered boats and meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements.
The 285-Series is designed as a drop-in replacement for 185-Series circuit breakers, making it a useful option for suitable replacement and marine electrical installation applications.
